Remarkables Retreat

Modern, but tiny and overpriced. Positive: Modern, warm and quiet. Negative: While the place is modern, it is absolutely tiny (it really is a one person apartment only) and not great value. There are no views or personal touches at all. The location is not very central and there are no supermarkets nearby. The second bed was not made when we arrived. Apart from cheap tea, coffee, salt and pepper there is nothing in the cupboards. We ran out of toilet paper on the second day and had to re-stock ourselves. For a much cheaper rate this would have been ok, but not for $300 a night. The price-value relationship is just really bad. This is not a 'Retreat' at all. Disappointing.

Great place for a short stay - compact, spotless and has everything you need Positive: A small space that was warm and comfortable for a quick stay with everything you need. Thank you so much to the lady from bach care who was so kind and understanding when we misplaced the keys and then found them... Negative: Just being in a dense residential suburb with narrow streets but that's just us as we are country dwellers. It was a great price for Queenstown and beautifully furnished

Tidy unit with great remarkable views Positive: Unit was tidy and comfortable. It's in Jacks Point, which is a close drive from the Frankton shopping centers or airport. View of the remarkables is amazing. Gary was easy to deal with via the booking.com app. It was good to be able to use clothes washer, and washing was easy to dry on washing rack (summer weather). Negative: I asked for the sofa bed to be made up and told it would be another $30. Arrived and found bed was unmade. Cleaner had not made it up so I didn't pay the extra $30. We managed to find spare bedding and made up sofa bed. If you are short don't book this unit you won't be able to reach the plates, cup etc. Microwave is a dangerously high position to remove hot food safely so I wouldn't use it. Only 3 of each item, so there no point using the dishwasher. Parking on-site was often a mission with the family that lives in the adjoining property having to move their vehicle so you can get car out.. Jacks Point is a very busy construction area so on street parking is at a premium with trades.

Positive: The house is at a beautiful location with the view of the Remarkables. It is actually part of a house that is separated from the host's house. The place is clean and has everything we need. Negative: Although the space is quite small but we can manage. We couldn't park outside the house because it was most of the time occupied with cars and had to park further from the house.
